I’ve read through some of the reviews that have been posted about this programme and I completely disagree! What a great programme (if YOU commit to it) the staff are amazing and I have got everything out of the programme so far to lead a healthy (not perfect πŸ˜‚) life! If you had a negative response maybe you weren’t ready?

The attitudes & conduct of the majority of the nurses were simply awful, distressing, counter-productive & downright inappropriate. Issues included failure to provide adequate or even barely warm food, food or at all; incorrect or no medication; instruction to housekeeping staff not to change my sheets after 10 days; very serious breaches of Australian Privacy Laws; and incredibly judgmental, condescending, nasty, retaliatory & retributory mainly middle-aged female people who shamefully call themselves β€˜nurses’, let alone ones who are suitable for the service. Going to that hell-hole has done more harm than good & has cost about 15 years worth of very Top Hospital Cover. It speaks volumes that Healthscope has collapsed; but I hope it means that they’re almost all sacked & there is a new start.

The most wonderful establishment I have ever been to. Staff and facilities are excellent as always.

As a deaf person I found I could only understand a few of the nurses at this facility, the rest of them are Indians with accents I just can't get past, the food was mostly cold and inedible served on paper plates, I was denied insulin for over two hours because an endocrinologist allegedly hadn't signed off on my mid day dose and she was un contactible . Very disappointing place indeed.

Do not attend the facility if your co-occurring mental health issues are the primary factor behind addiction. On initial days detox is just loading you with valium and campral with no safety plan or de-escalation strategies implemented to curb cravings or any mental health incidences that may arise. Minimal dopamine boosting activities available (art therapy, gardening, exercise etc.) to replace the stimulus of substances. Go stir crazy the first few days. Basically want you bed bound for detox. Facility is best targeted at those in severe cases of addiction where cognitive and bodily function is decreasing or lost. For those with some self awareness of how to begin their recovery journey - trying to get better here is just a set back. Poorly run facility for somewhere that’s highly recommended in the Queensland state for recovery. Disappointing to say the least.
