WARNING!!! If you enter the Methadone/Suboxone program you will never EVER be prescribed any analgesics again. Even after you quit the program. A DASSA drug counsellor talked me into it because of a Xanax addiction. I was only on Methadone for 3 months so it was easy to come off. (It supposed to be for temporary use only). Then 18 months later I injured my knee at work and sought pain relief from my GP and was told sorry because of DASSA regulations I cannot prescribe you any analgesics or drugs of dependence, your only option is Methadone. Even though my addiction was benzodiazepines his hands were tied. I wanted to work so I had no choice. In 2019 I nearly lost my leg in a serious car accident and once discharged from hospital I was in so much agony I wanted to take my own life as Methadone wasn't enough for the acute pain I was in. My injuries still cause me significant pain most of time but If I quit the program my only pain relief options are panadol and aspirin. For acute pain, methamphetamines and marijuana. I even wrote to DASSA explaining my issues but was told to talk to my methadone prescribing doctor who was angry that I went behind his back. The program has ruined my life because I sought help for a temporary benzo addiction which in the end I managed to get off myself, plus Methadone successfully. Its not a one size fits all and people should be informed of these harsh DASSA regulations. Now you know so you can make the right choice knowing this program will affect your future forever.

Very friendly staff; water cooler ran out of cups so they kindly gave everyone waiting chilled water bottles. Keep up the good work shout out to reception staff πŸ‘
