Randall is an exceptional human being… he is smart, charismatic, good looking and fun to be around… but most importantly… he cares… I cannot thank him enough for what he taught me and for his ever present patience and grace! Xxoo
Leaving a review for a rehab can feel overwhelming. It’s such a personal experience, and it’s not something you take lightly. But HARP truly changed my life — so if sharing this helps even one young woman, mother, sister or daughter who is struggling, then it’s worth it.
Before I submitted my inquiry, I did a lot of research. I came across their 5-step curriculum and saw that at the Olinda facility, Randall teaches the program. After looking through their Instagram and listening to him speak, something just clicked. It wasn’t about the luxury for me — although the setting is beautiful — I needed real inner work. And that’s exactly what I got.
Randall, Olivia (the psychologist), and Nick (the counsellor) were the heart of my experience. They didn’t just “do their jobs” — they genuinely cared. Randall especially challenged me in ways I didn’t always like in the moment. We clashed at times, but it always came from a place of compassion and wanting better for me. He holds the curriculum in such a powerful way. On my very first session, I told him I was here to learn from him. On my last day, I asked him what I had said in that first session — and he repeated it back to me word for word. That meant more than I can explain.
I was quick to judge the nightly NA and AA meetings at first. I didn’t think they would be for me. Now, I’m so grateful for them. Sitting in those rooms, hearing other people’s stories, seeing where they came from and the light in their faces as they shared their milestones — that’s what recovery looks like. That’s what hope looks like. And HARP helped me find that.
I originally signed up for four weeks and ended up staying for six. I have never once regretted extending my time. No matter where you’ve come from or what your “poison” was, there is no judgment there. They see you. They hear you. They meet you where you’re at.
Yes, it’s expensive. But this is your life. Your future. Your peace. I can’t put a price on that. If you go in honest, open and truly willing to change, you will get everything you need. If you’re looking for a holiday or celebrity treatment, this probably isn’t it. This is real work.
I don’t feel like I got my old life back — I feel like I’ve been given a new one. I’ve made lifelong friends with other clients, and even the teachers and support workers will always hold a special place in my heart.
I’m sober. And I am the happiest I’ve ever been.
Randall and Kate, in particular, were my saving grace
My 19 year old son attended Harp with addiction issues and was literally transformed emotionally, psychologically and physically. As parents we couldn’t believe the growth we saw during his time at and most importantly, after the Harp program. As an educator I loved the wholistic deep learning structured approach that is embedded in a clear and strong philosophy on well being and development. I actually read the core text the students used and thought it was brilliant! I think it should be something incorporated in secondary school syllabus. We are forever grateful that our son had this opportunity and highly recommend this for individuals who need help.
HARP was truly life-changing for me.
Before entering HARP, I was living in addiction — convincing myself I was in control and could stop whenever I chose. In reality, I was caught in a vicious cycle that I couldn’t break on my own.
It wasn’t until I arrived at HARP that I began to understand the deeper reasons behind my gambling and drinking. From day one, I learned something that completely shifted my perspective: alcohol and gambling weren’t actually my problem — they were my solution. That realisation changed everything. From that point, I committed fully to the incredible 5i program that HARP delivers.
Every single staff member played a meaningful role in my recovery — from the curriculum facilitator, to the warm and welcoming office team, the dedicated support workers, and those who ran the extracurricular therapies such as art therapy, music therapy, massage and personal training. Together, they create a genuinely holistic environment that allows you to focus entirely on yourself and your healing.
Today, I live a life grounded in empowerment, love and strong personal values. I am aware of my character defects and continue to work on them. I’m more in tune with my emotions, able to lean into the ones that serve me and protect myself from those that once pulled me back into addiction.
I am now almost 18 months sober and gamble-free. Since entering recovery, I’ve grown my business into a company, welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world with my long-term partner — who stood by me for seven years — and I now sponsor others, passing on the knowledge and guidance that was so generously given to me.
HARP didn’t just help me get sober and stop gambling — it empowered me by giving me the tools to help me build a life I’m proud of. I will be forever grateful for my time there!
Harp retreat and the super friendly staff catered to my needs and set me on the right path to help me tackle life on life's terms clean and sober. Thank you Harp.
Walking through the doors at HARP Private Rehab was one of the most vulnerable moments of my life. I did not need somewhere flashy or impressive. I needed somewhere I felt safe. Somewhere I felt seen and heard. From the very beginning, that is exactly what I experienced.
The staff met me with warmth and genuine care. I was not treated like a number or a problem to be fixed. I was treated like a person whose life mattered. In group sessions and one on one therapy I felt listened to, challenged with compassion, and supported in ways that helped me look honestly at myself without shame.
Yes, it is costly. I will not pretend it is not. But I had to ask myself a very real question. What is my life worth. What is my future worth. What is my family worth. When I look at it that way, the investment makes sense. Recovery has given me something money never could. It has given me my life back.
The beautiful surrounds, nourishing food and comfortable rooms were an added bonus. They created a calm and supportive environment where I did not have to worry about cooking, cleaning or managing everyday life. I could focus fully on my healing and recovery. That space to simply stop and do the work was invaluable.
HARP is not a luxury hotel and it is not meant to be. It is a rehabilitation facility designed to make recovery possible. It equips you with practical, psychological and physical skills that you carry with you long after you leave. You learn how to sit with discomfort. You learn how to take responsibility. You learn how to live differently.
Like everything in life, you get out what you put in. If you are willing to be honest, to participate and to do the work, this place can and will change your life.
My time at HARP completely transformed my life. I learned a lot. So I'm very grateful to the team. Thank you :)
