South Coast Private, Mental Health Hospital

Couldn’t rate it any lower unfortunately. Dr Kelsey Denny was incredibly unprofessional and rude. Despite making an appointment months in advance, the day of the appointment she dismissed the patient before even entering her office. She threatened her patient if she wanted to be diagnosed she’d have to spent multiple 2 hour sessions and insinuated that her patients were just wanting medication. Absolutely disgusting behaviour despite a referral and booking months in advance. Have a serious look at yourself “doctor” Kelsey Denny. She also looks nothing like her photo.

Level 2 has Great nurses, caring. Please tell person filling vending machine to fill properly as some items are out of order.

Had a well rounded stay. Nursing staff are careing and attentive to our needs the specialist I had help me throught my stay Dr Taz thank you. Program leaders we full of knowlage and respect. The kitchen staff and Art room staff are fantastic. As fo Levi and ladys on front desk and lvl 1. Nothing to hard for this group of people. Thank you S.C.P.H My next stays will be here.

I recently stayed for four weeks at this establishment due to various mental health conditions. The nursing staff were just so lovely.. I cannot praise them enough. I must say that the front desk staff were not helpful. They had a very uncaring manner; bordering on rude. Not a good first impression. I was very nervous upon arrival & they kept me sat waiting for well over an hour. I became anxious very nearly left before admission. My husband convinced me to stay & I am very glad that I did. The ACT program was amazing. The kitchen staff were lovely & the food was ok however could do with a little improvement. They often ran out of desserts. Although it did not bother me many people missed out. I much enjoyed the art room/program. Paul who coordinates the art room is truly wonderful. What would be advantageous is more outside services coming in such as masseuses. I did not see any counsellor & did not gel with my allotted psychiatrist Dr Pai. Despite this, I would certainly return to South Coast Private under a more compassionate psychiatrist. I am truly grateful for my stay. I came home feeling very refreshed & armed with knowledge & resources. Thank you South Coast Private!

The psychiatrist was a creep, asked me inappropriate questions that had nothing to do with the reason I was there and when I complained he just tried to argue with me. I've already tried complaining don't let the reply fool you they just gave me the run around. Also previous psychiatrist I saw (who still works there!) sexually harassed me and tried to push conversion practices on me. This is a completely unsafe facility and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The place is a revolving door waste of money.

Why?.

I can't recommend psychologist Margherita De Ri highly enough. I recently had an assessment for ASD and found her to be extremely welcoming, empathic and understanding. She thoroughly explained terms and diagnosis without complicated jargon but instead explained on easy to understand terms. She treated me as her equal and genuinely respected me and my experiences. If you're an adult seeking ASD diagnosis, prices are very reasonable and Magherita knows ASD inside out.
