Windana has been life changing for me, change is possible if you want ,with the support of there staff, and program , detox, or treatment centers,

Overall if you want to change your life on centerlink payments then windana can help plenty of good people and tools to better your self not much going on for self care no gym budget seems to be non existent and bare with it some staff can be better than others good luck!

Controlling. Almost a cult. I spent 12 months there. No concept of social justice. Decisions made about residents without consultation.

1, The Manager hugged people, including myself when this was unrequitted and totally inappropreiate 2. The manager and staff told us to call them therapists. I was not given any counselling or therapy, only made to participate in art, and music therapy which consisted of doing some art and listening to a guy who told us how great he was at music since his recovery. Any real therapeutic intervention consisted of filling out forms that were downloaded from the internet 3.I was told to not cross my legs (while the manger did), and to not speak unless asked to be spoken to 4. I was condemed to a weekly meeting where others where able to tell me how much they thought i was a horrible person or how much they hated me. I was given punishments in accordance with these claims and daily claims of negligence that were written in some warnings book (i dont remember the name of it) 5. We spent every day working in the kitchen or garden with no acknowlegemernt of any achievement 6. i was assaulted by another client during a bbq sizzle outside coles to get money for the service. The same happened at the service with another guy. I made complaints and nothing was done about them 7. I was alowed day leave at first with my phone, healthcare card and mediare card, and that was later revoked. I expressed concern about these in case i was in an emergancy. The staff told me if i was going to despute this i would not be able to go on leave at all. 8. We had to be in bed at 10 every night and the staff (be they female or male) would come into our bedrooms when they wanted to "check on us" every night (totally inappropriate). 9. Not one of their interventions assisted me to stop drinking. In fact they made me feel worse. The only reason i was able to stop was because i was locked up in a place for 3 months and couldn't. I felt very depressed when i left this horrible place 10. This place (Windand Ballarat) was totally toxic and was deterimental to my mental health and wellbeing. Don't go there
